Biopsychosocial Management of TBIs: Importance of BPS Model in Assessment, Treatment, Recovery, and Training
This workshop explores the importance of applying the Biopsychosocial (BPS) model to the assessment and treatment of individuals with mild Traumatic Brain Injuries (mTBI). It advocates for a collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach involving a team of multi-disciplinary providers. Participants will learn to identify the biological, psychological, and social factors affecting a patient's recovery and understand the appropriate treatment options to ensure integrated and effective care. The ultimate goal is to improve patient outcomes by treating the whole person, not just the injury.
Target Audience
This activity provides continuing education for physician associates/physician assistants, psychologists, physical therapists, and physical therapist assistants across the Military Health System (MHS). A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.
