Family Advocacy Staff Training Advanced Course-- Child Abuse

This activity provides clinicians and healthcare professionals with an actionable framework for implementing Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) in therapeutic settings. Participants will explore the neurobiological effects of trauma on patient behavior and recovery and equip providers with non-intrusive clinical strategies designed to promote healing while actively preventing client re-traumatization.

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, social workers, psychologists, and certified counselors. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Apply Truth Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) by connecting, empowering, and correcting strategies in working with clients.
  2. Explain how the brain processes trauma and the impact it can have on healing and behaviors during the healing process.
  3. Utilize nurture groups in group settings to demonstrate the four pillars of secure attachment.
  4. Identify a new clinical strategy that is not intrusive for clients and does not cause additional victimization.
