Rehabilitation of Combat Casualties: Past and Future

This presentation will review historical military rehabilitation care, looking at the skillsets needed to provide it, and where it was provided. It will ask questions about how rehabilitation care would be provided to military patients in any future large-scale conflicts.

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and physical therapist assistants. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

  1. Describe how the Army deployed rehab care, and still performed it in CONUS.
  2. Discuss the policy on rehab care.
  3. Identify how the military adjusted its policies as medical capabilities have changed.
