Womack Pharmacy: Negative and Positive Symptom Management of Schizophrenia & Associated Psychosis

This activity is a part of the Womack Army Medical Center Pharmacy Monthly Training Series. This iteration will discuss the negative and positive symptom management of schizophrenia & associated psychosis.

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Define and summarize the etiology of schizophrenia.
  2. Differentiate between positive and negative symptoms associated with schizophrenia and psychosis.
  3. Select appropriate pharmacological treatment options based on patient-specific factors.
  4. Identify relevant drug-drug interactions and pharmacogenetic dispositions in medication therapy.
