HCE: CAOHC Course Director Workshop
The Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC)-approved Military Representatives will provide an 8-hour workshop for hearing conservation professionals seeking certification or re-certification as Course Directors (CD). It is intended to prepare CDs to conduct successful 20-hour Occupational Hearing Conservation certification and 8-hour recertification courses.CD certification is required to train and certify hearing technicians conducting surveillance audiometry across the Department of Defense as part of the Service Hearing Conservation Program.
Target Audience
This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, and audiologists. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.
Learning Objectives
- Plan and conduct an Occupational Hearing Conservationist (OHC) course that complies with Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC's) policies and procedures.
- Apply effective learning principles to teach adult students.
- Evaluate the skill level of OHCs during the practicum.
- Adjust curricula and training methodologies based on outcome measures.

In support of improving patient care, DHA, J-7, CEPO is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the health care team. This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team, and learners will receive 6.50 Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) credits for learning and change.
Requirements: CE/CME certificates are awarded to participants who fully complete the activity, successfully submit the evaluation survey, and pass the posttest. The deadline to claim credit is Mar 26, 2027.
