Aimee Sanders, M.D., M.P.H.

Aimee Sanders, M.D., M.P.H. is a Physician Educator in the Office of Women’s Health in Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Central Office. She joined VHA in 2008 and began working with the Office of Women’s Health in 2012. She develops and delivers innovative education and training programs to clinical staff who provide care to women Veterans – the fastest growing segment of the Veteran population. Dr. Sanders has been involved in various women’s health mini-residencies for over 12 years. Currently, she leads a 10-year training initiative in collaboration with VHA’s Office of Rural Health to train to rural primary care providers and nurses in women’s health using a blended, mobile mini-residency approach.
Dr. Sanders earned her Bachelor of Science, Masters of Public Health and Doctor of Medicine degrees from The Ohio State University. She completed her Internal Medicine residency and Chief Resident year, focusing on women’s health, from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She is a Board-Certified Internist who, in addition to her role as a dedicated educator, provides primary care in the women’s clinic at the Chalmers P. Wylie VA Ambulatory Care Center in Columbus, Ohio.
