Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, physician associates/assistants, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Describe the vital contributions of military perioperative and perianesthesia nurses to the Operation Allies Refuge and Operation Allies Welcome (OAR/OAW) missions.
  2. Verbalize lessons learned from the military's response to OAR/OAW, including challenges related to communication, resource management, and cultural competency.
  3. Discuss key recommendations for military and civilian healthcare leaders to enhance preparedness and response strategies for future mass casualty (MASCAL) and humanitarian crises, focusing on training, technology, and resource allocation.
