US Army Special Operations Command (USSOC) Fighter Management-Senior Leader Cumulative Stress

Special Operation Force (SOF) Senior Leaders, Medical Providers, and Behavioral Health Providers will view a presentation focused on Senior Leader Cumulative Stress. This presentation will explore the unique stressors, health trends, and intervention strategies for SOF personnel. The presentation will take place on July 17, 2025, from 1200 to 1300 (EST). An MS Team Link will be provided and a group will be in attendance at Fort Irwin, CA. The presentation aims to enhance understanding of the cumulative stress experienced by senior leaders in SOF, identify common trends and risks, and recommend early intervention strategies to mitigate long-term health impacts, thereby maintaining operational readiness and wellbeing.

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, social workers and psychologists

Learning Objectives

  1. Explain the changing role of purpose throughout a career in SOF and how it relates to health trends and risk.
  2. Define common mental and physical health trends that result from cumulative stress.
  3. Utilize interventions that address risks and common trends.
  4. Identify the unique risks, trends and strategies surrounding alcohol use and addressing problematic alcohol use.
