DHA Infection Prevention and Control in the Dental Laboratory
Program Description:
This course is intended to educate healthcare personnel on how to ensure a safe working environment utilizing Infection Prevention and Control practices in the Dental setting. It includes guidance on prevention strategies, occupational exposure, medical waste and special infection prevention and control considerations in dentistry.
Target Audience
This activity provides continuing education for dentists, dental hygienists, and dental technicians. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.
Learning Objectives
- Identify how dental infections can spread to and within the dental laboratory.
- Discuss standard precautions used to prevent cross contamination in the dental laboratory.
- Explain the necessary steps for cleaning and disinfecting dental impressions and prostheses in the laboratory.
- Describe special considerations encountered in the dental laboratory.
