TBICoE: Duty, Honor, Healing: Promoting Resilience and Recovery after Return to Duty

Traumatic brain injury symptoms are not always straightforward. Some service members suffer from TBI symptoms long after acute care and return to duty, leaving the service member asking themselves, "What now?" Join the Traumatic Brain Injury Center of Excellence for a discussion on post-acute TBI challenges such as post-concussive syndrome, attention deficits, and sleep disturbances to discover ways providers can promote resiliency and recovery.

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, physician assistants, social workers, psychologists, athletic trainers, registered dieticians, dietetic technicians, occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, certified counselors audiologists, speech language pathologists, physical therapists, and physical therapist assistants. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

  1. Differentiate common sleep-wake disorders experienced by patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI).
  2. Identify treatment considerations for sleep-wake disorders following TBI.
  3. Summarize the impacts of Infra-low Frequency Neurofeedback on sleep, headache, and attention disorders experienced post-TBI.
  4. Describe educational resources available for patients experiencing TBI symptoms.
