144th Interagency Institute for Federal Health Leaders
Program Description:
The Interagency Institute for Federal Health Leaders is a two-week course offered semi-annually in the spring and fall. The participants are medical and health service executives are selected by their respective agency (U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Public Health Service, Veterans Health Administration) to attend. The Institute provides these federal health professionals with leadership potential/expertise the opportunity to examine current global and health policy and management issues and consider how they may impact the federal health system. Participants should gain broader knowledge and understanding of trends and issues in the health systems arena, be reinvigorated to promote excellence in patient care and health status and develop stronger professional networks within the federal health sector.
Target Audience
This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, dentists, and healthcare executives. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.
Learning Objectives
- Explain how the Interagency Institute for Federal Health Leaders is organized to respond to identified learner needs.
- Recognize opportunities to learn and discuss with other health professionals a broad spectrum of current domestic, international, practice management and leadership issues that influence health care.
- Recognize fellow federal health executives who will participate in small group work/exercises to promote interactions among representatives of all agencies.
