Program Description

Clinical Quality Management (CQM) Professionals are those staff members whose role focus on patient safety, healthcare risk management, accreditation and compliance, credentialing and privileging, clinical quality improvement, and clinical measurement. DHA designed this curriculum for new entry-level CQM professionals. Learners will discover how their CQM roles support both the MHS Quadruple Aim and the goal of preventing patient harm.

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, dentists, dental hygienists, and dental technicians. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Describe how the Defense Health Agency’s mission aligns with Ready Reliable Care and strategic goals.
  2. Explain the risks and benefits of Health Information Technology.
  3. Summarize the role of patient engagement and safety for Clinical Quality Management (CQM) professionals.
  4. Discuss the importance of Credentialing and Privileging and clinical competency.
  5. Describe the Healthcare Risk Management frameworks and how they integrate with other CQM programs.
  6. Explain key policies and guidelines for Accreditation and Compliance.
  7. Describe principles and techniques of Clinical Measurement.
  8. Discuss methods of Clinical Quality Improvement within the CQM framework.
  9. Explain change management and describe strategies for managing change.
  10. Identify resources for professional development and continuous learning.
