Womack Pharm: Sodium-Glucose Cotransporter-2 Inhibitors (SGLT2i): The Multi-Tool

Program Description: 

This activity is a part of the Womack Army Medical Center Pharmacy Monthly Training Series. This iteration will discuss Sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors (SGLT2i) as a multi-tool in care.

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Comprehend the MOA of SGLT2i in the kidney and heart.
  2. Describe the progression of clinical trials for the SGLT2i class.
  3. Identify FDA approved indications for SGLT2i related to clinical trial evidence.
  4. Summarize updated guidelines of therapy with SGLT2i in patients with Heart Failure (HF).
  5. Outline recommendations for use and monitoring in multiple disease states.
