Program Description:
This activity is a part of the Womack Army Medical Center Pharmacy Monthly Training Series. This iteration will discuss Sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors (SGLT2i) as a multi-tool in care.
Target Audience
This activity provides continuing education for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.
Learning Objectives
- Comprehend the MOA of SGLT2i in the kidney and heart.
- Describe the progression of clinical trials for the SGLT2i class.
- Identify FDA approved indications for SGLT2i related to clinical trial evidence.
- Summarize updated guidelines of therapy with SGLT2i in patients with Heart Failure (HF).
- Outline recommendations for use and monitoring in multiple disease states.
