Katherine (“Kathy”) Lee, MSN, ARNP
Ms. Lee currently serves as the Director of Warfighter Brain Health Policy supporting the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Readiness Policy and Oversight. She brings considerable clinical, educational, research, and policy experience in the field of neuroscience and neurotrauma including more than 250 regional, national, and international presentations and more than 30 peer-reviewed publications
Ms. Lee has served in a variety of leadership, advisory, and operational roles in the US Department of the Army and the US Department of Defense for 20 years, including the Assistant Chief of the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center (DVBIC) and the Deputy Director for the Defense Centers of Excellence for Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury.
Prior to working in Washington, DC, Ms. Lee worked in two academic Level I trauma centers as a nurse practitioner/clinical care coordinator at the University of Louisville Hospital and as a clinical research coordinator in the Division of Neurosurgery at the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals/Virginia Commonwealth University. Ms. Lee holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in family and child development from Virginia Tech University.
