Air Force Col. (ret) Candy Wilson, Ph.D., A.P.R.N., W.H.N.P.-B.C., F.A.A.N.P., F.A.A.N. is the interim Associate Dean for Research and Scholarship for the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing at Florida Atlantic University in beautiful Boca Raton, Florida. She retired from the US Air Force after a 30-year military career in 2022. Dr. Wilson provided patient care as a clinical nurse and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner throughout her nursing and military career. Focusing on overseas deployments, she provided women’s health care in Afghanistan villages for over 3,000 women and children in seven villages.
Dr. Wilson has published 52 peer-reviewed papers and three book chapters. She was awarded over $18 million in research funded from Federal and Department of Defense sources. Dr. Wilson’s research goals at FAU are to collaborate with others dedicated to military and veteran research focusing on sex and gender differences in health and well-being, including alternative therapies.
