CDR Karima Ayesh graduated from Florida International University in 2001, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. She later attended Nova Southeastern University in 2006, earning a Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree from the College of Dental Medicine. She is a Board Certified General Dentist. 

Upon graduation, CDR Ayesh practiced for eight years throughout the states of Florida and Illinois. Inspired by her Navy colleague at Great Lakes, she decided to pursue her options regarding a Navy career as a dentist. She received her commission through the Direct Accession Program in April of 2014.

CDR Ayesh has served in various capacities including Dental Department Head while deployed with the USS Kearsarge, Dental Officer and Officer for Professional Development at Walter Reed National Naval Medical Center, and Dental Department Head of the Branch Health Clinic in Sasebo, Japan. Her awards include two Navy Commendation Medals and various other unit commendations and service medals.

CDR Ayesh currently serves as the Tri-Service Dental Point of Contact for the Active-Duty Dental Program in the Defense Health Agency.
