Vincent Bain, Ph.D., M.Div., M.B.E.
Chaplain (Major) Vincent Bain is a native of Illinois and now calls Minnesota his home of record. Prior to entering the military he served churches in Missouri and Minnesota. He was commissioned as a chaplain in the United States Army on December 18th, 2009 and completed the Chaplain Basic Officer Leadership Course before reporting to his first assignment.
CH Bain served as Battalion Chaplain for the 553rd Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 4th Sustainment Brigade at Fort Hood, TX from 2010 – 2012. He deployed once to Kuwait and Iraq in support of Operation New Dawn in 2011.
He served as Battalion Chaplain for the 554th Engineer Battalion, 1st Engineer Brigade at Fort Leonard Wood, MO from 2012 – 2016. He served as Battalion Chaplain for the 426th Brigade Support Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team at Fort Campbell, KY from 2016 – 2018. He served as Battalion Chaplain 184th Explosive Ordnance Disposal Battalion, 52nd Ordnance Group at Fort Campbell, KY from 2018 – 2020. He deployed once to Afghanistan, Iraq, and Kuwait as the Task Force Hellhound Chaplain in support of Operation Spartan Shield, Operation Freedom Sentinel, and Operation Inherent Resolve in 2019/2020. He served as Brigade Chaplain for the 3rd Chemical Brigade at Fort Leonard Wood, MO from 2020 – 2021. He was selected for Advanced Civilian Schooling and earned a Master of Bioethics from Harvard Medical School in May 2022. He presently serves as the Bioethics Chaplain at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center at Bethesda, MD.
CH Bain’s academic credentials include a PhD in Organizational Leadership from Concordia University – Chicago, a Master of Bioethics from Harvard Medical School – Boston, a Master of Divinity from Concordia Seminary – St. Louis, a Bachelor of Science in Christian Ministry from Crown College – St. Bonifacius, MN, and a Healthcare Ethics Consultant Certification from Harvard Medical School.
CH Bain’s awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (3 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), the Army Achievement Medal. He has also been awarded the De Fleury Medal from the US Army Engineer Association in recognition of his service and support to the US Army Engineer Regiment. He was selected as the Chaplain of the Year of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) for FY18.
