Sandra Schumacher, Ph.D., W.H.N.P.-B.C., C.N.M.
Sandra Schumacher, Ph.D., W.H.N.P.-B.C., C.N.M. joined Veterans Health Administration (VHA) in 2013 for a post-doctoral fellowship in women's health. She served as the Women Veterans Program Manager at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison, Wisc. from June 2015 to December 2022.
Dr. Schumacher was detailed to the Office of Women’s Health, Reproductive Health Program in January 2022 as the Clinical Project Lead. In April 2022, she began serving as the Reproductive Health Clinical Lead.
After serving in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps, Sandy became a Certified Nurse Midwife, a Women’s Healthcare Nurse Practitioner, Director of Clinical Effectiveness, Magnet Program Manager, and Coordinator for Clinical Education.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a Master’s degree in Nurse Midwifery from the University of Minnesota, a Master’s degree in Health, Leisure, & Sports from the University of West Florida, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Nursing with a minor in Gender Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
