Ellen Kilpatrick-Cobb, MSEL, BSN, RN, CDCES
Ellen Kilpatrick is a Certified Diabetes Care and Educational Specialist that is currently employed by the South Texas Veterans Health Care System educating and caring for our nation's heroes in outpatient primary care settings. She has been employed with the Veterans Administration since 2018. She is the Co- chair of the STVHCS Evidenced Based Practice and Research Committee. Ellen assists and promotes nurses to participate in evidenced based practice endeavors. Ellen hails from Joint Base San Antonio (Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center) since 2001 where she was the Quality Coordinator of the first USAF American Diabetes Association recognized program. Ellen maintained that credential for the USAF for over 11 years. She has educated and cared for 100's of active duty and retirees assisting them in the home management of diabetes. Ellen had a poster presentation at the national ADA Scientific Sessions annual meeting in New Orleans, LA as well as a podium presentation at the American Association of Diabetes Educators annual meeting in 2016 in San Francisco CA. She has also published in three peer reviewed journals on process improvement projects that she led while at Wilford Hall. Ellen displays her passion for diabetes and her deep regard for all of her patients with her unique way of educating and presenting evidenced based principles.
