Air Force Major Heather Hubbard has practiced in and managed several medical services across the Department of Defense (DoD) Military Health System (MHS), a large global health system. As a recognized clinical expert, my most outstanding contribution is that I work endlessly to improve maternal safety and woman’s healthcare through clinical practice, influencing policy and standards, and presenting at national, regional, and local agencies and organizations regarding woman’s healthcare. I practiced in traditional and non-traditional settings providing critically needed woman’s health services for active duty, dependents, and retirees. Also, I foster multidisciplinary collaboration by training not only Nurse Practitioner students but also Physician Assistant students and medical residents on obstetric and gynecologic skills and procedures that will benefit the women they will treat in both military and civilian settings.
