Daniel Tolson, M.D., M.C.
Army LTC (Dr.) Daniel J. Tolson is the Chief of Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics at Madigan Army Medical Center, JBLM, WA and is a Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Uniformed Services University. LTC Tolson received his Bachelor of Science in Botany from Brigham Young University and his Medical Degree from the F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine at the Uniformed Services University. He went on to complete his residency in pediatrics at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium at Brook Army Medical Center and Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center. He practiced as a General Pediatrician at Fort Sill, Oklahoma for the next 5 years including a tour in Mosul, Iraq as the Battalion Surgeon for the 1-36 Infantry out of Fort Bliss, TX. He then pursued fellowship training in Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics at MAMC where he has stayed on as active teaching faculty and division chief. While at MAMC he helped with the pioneering efforts to improve care for children with developmental challenges as the first Medical Director of JBLMs Center for Autism Resources Education and Services as well as efforts to provide remote diagnostic telehealth care to military families in remote locations well before the pandemic telehealth revolution. He is active in community advocacy and serves as the military representative to the WA State Governors interagency coordinating council for early intervention services.
