Target Audience
This activity provides continuing education for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.
Learning Objectives
- Describe the current diagnostic criteria and guideline-based indications for initiating testosterone replacement therapy in adult men.
- Summarize the benefits and risks of testosterone replacement therapy.
- Differentiate between prescription testosterone therapies and commonly used over-the-counter supplements marketed for testosterone enhancement.
- Apply current monitoring recommendations for men receiving testosterone therapy, including laboratory and clinical follow-up intervals.
- Evaluate patient scenarios to determine appropriate initiation, continuation, or discontinuation of testosterone therapy based on symptom response, laboratory findings, and shared decision-making principles.
