Program Description

This activity will provide ready and relevant training to healthcare providers on the topics of mass causality, triage, and 9-line.

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, physician associates/physician assistants, social workers, psychologists, certified counselors, healthcare executives, physical therapists, and physical therapist assistants. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Define and differentiate between disaster, mass casualty incident, and event while deducing real life examples.
  2. Identify components of a 9-line and utilize resources to translate and formulate a basic 9-line.
  3. Formulate awareness of START and JumpSTART triage and utilize triage method for mass casualty case scenarios to test knowledge acquisition.
  4. Discuss and choose considerations of triage set-up including possible decontamination concern, triage supplies, and staffing resources.
