Program Description

This course offers training and professional development for Network and Military Medical/Dental Treatment Facility (MTF/DTF) Chief Medical Officers (CMO) / Chief Nursing Officers (CNO) / Chief Dental Officers (CDO). Training will consist of plenary sessions and breakout sessions focusing on topics related to clinical quality management, healthcare optimization and financial operations. The curriculum consists of operational tools and learning objectives for DHA advancement. This is a training event and not a conference. This is a graded course.

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, physician assistants, dentists, and healthcare executives. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Differentiate key responsibilities of the CMO/CNO/CDO at Defense Health Agency Headquarters (DHA HQ), DHNs, and Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs).
  2. Identify areas for improved communication between CMOs/CNOs/CDOs.
  3. Describe bi-directional communication flow between CMOs/CNOs/CDOs at DHA HQ, DNHs, and MTFs.
  4. Explain the quality care metrics that drive the DHN/MTF practices.
  5. Evaluate healthcare operations metrics driving DHN/MTF business rules.
  6. Comprehend and evaluate financial management of the DHN/MTF.
  7. Summarize the mission, vision, and priorities of the DHA.
  8. Create a high-performance culture and organization.

    DHA J-7 CEPO is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing education. ACCME Non-Physician CME Credit providers will be provided a certificate of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. ACCME Non-Physician CME Credit providers may receive a maximum of 13.25 hours for completing this Course activity.

    DHA J-7 CEPO is authorized to award a maximum of 13.25 hours of pre-approved American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Qualified Education credit for this program toward advancement, or recertification in the American College of Healthcare Executives. Participants in this program who wish to have the continuing education hours applied toward ACHE Qualified Education credit must self-report their participation. To self-report, participants must log into their MyACHE account and select ACHE Qualified Education Credit.
