DoD Maxillofacial Restoration Conference: Optimizing Facial Harmony and Function in the Cleft Lip and Palate Patient
January’s Maxillofacial Restoration Conference (MFRC) will focus on Optimizing Facial Harmony and Function in the Cleft Lip & Palate Patient Maxillofacial Restoration is a process to restore the patient to health following management of congenital, pathologic, or traumatic conditions of the oral cavity, face, head, neck, and/or jaws through training, therapy, and/or procedures coordinated across nine integrated clinical care pathways. Grand rounds style discussions include in-depth case reviews to inform stakeholders about enterprise and localized treatment modalities and expertise. This forum will expand engagement with clinical stakeholders in maxillofacial restoration and associated disciplines to enhance patient care and outcomes while advancing education/training, research, and future capabilities.
Target Audience
This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, and dentists, dental hygienists, and dental technicians. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

- Describe the different types of maxillary defects and the goals of maxillary reconstruction
- Distinguish the ways different treatment options achieve different goals in cleft lip and palate reconstruction.
- Explain the epidemiology for cleft lip and palate patients.
