2024 New Facility Manager Training
Program Description
This activity is designed primarily for New DHA Facility Managers with an introduction to the various topics required to successfully manage a DHA Medical Treatment Facility. Anyone with Facility Operations oversight may also attend. The live training will be located in-person in San Antonio, TX, 5-7 March 2024.
Target Audience
This activity provides continuing education for healthcare executives. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.
Learning Objectives
- Identify the Major Roles and Responsibilities for a Facilities Manager (FM) within the Defense Health agency (DHA).
- Identify the key roles and responsibilities of a Sustainment, Restoration and Modernization Portfolio Manager (SRM-PM).
- Identify the life cycle stages of a FM Requirements Package.
- Understand the fundamentals of facility accreditation & compliance.
- Identify the source code that ensures Life Safety compliance during active construction projects.
- Understand the various types of funding methods available for projects.
- Understand the capabilities of the Facility Operations Branch Engineering section.
- Understand the capabilities of the Facilities Operations Branch Project Management section.
- Understand the capabilities of the Medical Support Teams (MSTs).

- 15.75 Healthcare Executives (ACHE)By attending this program offered by DHA, J-7, CEPO, participants may earn up to 15.75 American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Qualified Education hours toward initial certification or recertification of the Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) designation. Participants in this program who wish to have the continuing education hours applied toward ACHE Qualified Education credit must self-report their participation. To self-report, participants must log into their MyACHE account and select ACHE Qualified Education Credit.
