Description

The purpose of the focus group is to assess the effectiveness of the Defense Health Agency (DHA), J-7, Continuing Education Program Office (CEPO) in advancing interprofessional collaboration and improved clinical practices among health care providers in the Military Health System (MHS). Focus group members will inform program improvements by engaging in a discussion around the impact and implementation of the Clinical Communities Speaker Series and other continuing education activities supported by CEPO.

Focus Group Eligibility

Only government civilian employees and uniformed service members/reservists may participate in the focus group. Government contractors may not participate.

2024 Focus Group Consent Form

Purpose

  • You are volunteering to participate in a focus group study sponsored by the Defense Health Agency, J-7, Continuing Education Program Office (DHA J-7 CEPO). DHA J-7 CEPO is conducting the focus group to gather feedback from participants about the efficacy of its continuing education programs to enhance the clinical practice of Military Health System health care providers.

Procedure

  • As part of the study, you will participate in a virtual discussion group with three to nine individuals. A moderator will ask you and the other participants up to five questions each to facilitate the discussion. The session is scheduled to last sixty minutes. As approved with the Survey Control Number (SCN): DHA-1099, this focus group will be audio-recorded and a note-taker will be present. Participation in the focus group is optional and you may stop at any time.
  • Please note that there are no right or wrong answers to focus group questions. The CEPO team hopes to hear diverse viewpoints and would like for everyone to contribute their thoughts. The moderator will ask that only one person speak at a time during the discussion.

  • DHA, J-7, CEPO will use the feedback provided during the focus group to improve its program. Your participation may benefit future learners by contributing to activities that more effectively promote a positive change in the skills, competence, and performance of the health care team, leading to better patient outcomes.

Confidentiality

  • To foster an open discussion, all input from focus group members will be documented anonymously (not attributed to an individual) in any session reports. Participants must respect the personal privacy of other group members and may not attribute comments to individuals after the session concludes.
